KCU works in partnership with the Trussell Trust to manage the Kettering and District Foodbank to ensure that no one in need in our community goes hungry.
We assemble and distribute food parcels* to those in food poverty across Kettering and surrounding towns and villages, giving access to emergency food 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
Our Operating Model
Emergency food need is met with dignity and respect through our 12 authorised Partner Agencies who hold food parcels on site, issuing them to customers when a need has been identified. This removes unnecessary travel, removes embarrassment and increases efficiency. Each parcel contains three meals a day for three days’ and is designed to be nutritionally balanced. The parcels have a food voucher attached which is completed on issue and returned to KCU.
Our Partner Agents
The organisations listed below are authorised and trained through KCU to issue food parcels to those identified as in need. These organisations also provide support and advice on how to deal with the core problems that have caused people to be in food poverty in the first place. All our food parcels contain the best food available and all contents comply with the Trussell Trust guidelines on volumes and nutritional values.
